Glenn Gould passed away in 1982, and in anticipation of his eightieth birthday, CBC/Radio-Canada has released a DVD collection entitled Glenn Gould on Television.
Shocking to many is Gould’s insistence on singing during performances. Occasionally disconcerting are his opinions concerning Bach’s place in music history. Simply hilarious are his impressions of contemporary musicians, including a certain Dr. Karlheinz Klopweisser.

Dr. Karlheinz Klopweisser is hilarious and the juxtaposition of Gould’s description of Bach’s time and his place in history versus the ridiculous Klopweisser is very entertaining. Thanks for sharing!
